E-mail
Solution:
E-mail has become the preferred method of communication for
many, if not most, clients. Joinnet is committed to improving
this essential part.
To ensure an up-to-date, solid and expandable structure for
e-mail service, Joinnet work to build an entirely new system
based on Internet standards. The Joinnet messaging system
will make it easier for all clients to stay in touch with
each other and keep up with important information.
Joinnet new e-mail system will have increased reliability,
more features, better performance, easier Web access, cell
phone access capability, annoying junk mail and virus protection.
Customization:
Joinnet mail system enables customization of web and wireless
interfaces for branding, as well as to include icons to
identify different message types. So that each company can
have there own interface web mail and Logo.
Web-Based E-mail:
As e-mail becomes increasingly necessary for business, the
need to get e-mail outside the home or office also increases.
The Joinnet Mail system is intended for a mobile world.
One of the most attractive features of the Joinnet messaging
system is Web-based e-mail, which is accessible worldwide.
Joinnet Webmail will be similar to such e-mail services
as Hotmail and Yahoo, but without the advertising and spam
(junk mail). It will let Joinnet clients get messages from
any computer with Internet access and a Web browser, not
just a single computer at work or home. They simply go to
a Website, enter their AccessID and password, and have full
access to their e-mail account.
Webmail is fast and easy to use. This will be great for
people who depend on computers in different places to access
e-mail, such as students who use computers on campus or
employees who work in different buildings or even cities.
The new Webmail interface will include an address book that
is stored on the Joinnet mail server, multiple mailboxes,
and message filtering. Managing e-mail account settings
such as the new e-mail name, passwords, signatures, vacation
messages, and mail forwarding will be possible-and easy-on
the Web.
Spam and Virus Protection:
Keeping messages in order is hard enough without dealing
with annoying junk mail and the possibility of viruses coming
in through e-mail attachments. These problems are not simply
an irritant but can cause computers and the entire e-mail
system to break down. The new e-mail system will benefit
all users with the addition of a powerful virus filtering
system. This filter will recognize and trap almost all e-mail
viruses sent through the Mail system, whether they come
from outside the Joinnet or from a previously infected machine.
The Joinnet Mail system will also include user-customizable
filters to protect against spamming.
Secure Messaging:
Joinnet Mail systems deliver key security features right
out-of-the-box to ensure the highest levels of security
for the contents of the message store, as well as to prevent
unauthorized access of the messaging systems. Joinnet systems
employ a secure, hardened operating system that has key
ports closed and non-critical services turned off. Unlike
traditional UNIX-based systems, the Joinnet Mail approach
prevents outsiders from executing remote commands on the
Joinnet messaging systems to further protect against security
breaches. To enhance the security of messaging traffic,
the Joinnet Mail System also supports security technologies
such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), Secure Shell-level (SSH)
encryption and Kerberos.
For further protection against junk emails, Joinnet supports
SMTP-based authentication and Real-time Blackhole Lists
(RBLs). Joinnet also offers user and system-level filters
that can be set to block messages based on sender originating
domain, IP address or even keywords within the header or
message body.
Wireless E-mail Access:
Joinnet Mail systems provide a complete, turnkey solution
for delivering wireless messaging services. The system will
provide wireless capability for devices such as cell phones
and wireless PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants). The Joinnet
messaging system supports the Wireless Application Protocol
(WAP), which allows wireless devices to communicate with
computers on the Internet. Joinnet clients with Web-enabled
cell phones, or other WAP-compliant devices will be able
to access their e-mail accounts remotely. E-mail will truly
be accessible from anyplace, anytime.
Unlike general-purpose solutions that require complex gateways
prone to scalability and performance problems, the Joinnet
Mail wireless solutions employ the Direct Access technology
to deliver a direct connection from the wireless device
to the Joinnet message store. In addition to email access,
the Joinnet Mail solution also provides wireless access
to complimentary Mail applications such as address book.

As wireless operators look to deploy rich,
multimedia services on new high-speed, third-generation
wireless networks, the Joinnet messaging systems provide
an ideal foundation for message storage and access. With
full-support for Internet email standards including SMTP
and Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME).
